Making a lamp - continuing with the kumiko

Creating the kumiko is the bit that takes the longest time. The kumiko wood is very thin and the gluing area small, so again I glue dowels (in this case, toothpicks, actually) into all of the end-to-face joints. I also do the final sanding on the kumiko with a random orbit palm sander, verifying their integrity.
